There's nothing quite like this in-between season — engaged, planning, and still just the two of you. My engagement sessions are outdoor, golden-hour sessions around Mountain Home and North Central Arkansas, at a spot picked for beautiful light. They run about an hour, relaxed and guided the whole way, so you don't have to know how to pose — I'll help you two just be together, laugh, and be yourselves. You'll walk away with a full gallery of true-to-color images, perfect for save-the-dates, your wedding website, and framing at the reception. And if you're planning your wedding too, I'd love to be there — you can see my collections and dates on my weddings page.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an engagement session cost in Mountain Home?

Engagement sessions with Michele McCoy Photography are $275. That includes about an hour of outdoor, golden-hour photography and your full gallery of professionally edited images in a private online gallery to download, share, and print — no image limits, no upsells. Current pricing and any specials are always on the booking page.

Where do engagement sessions take place, and what towns do you serve?

Engagement sessions are photographed outdoors at a beautiful spot chosen for the best golden-hour light. Michele is based in Mountain Home, Arkansas, and serves the surrounding area within about a 30-mile radius (roughly a 30-minute drive) — including Gassville, Cotter, Flippin, Norfork, Bull Shoals, Lakeview, Midway, Salesville, and Yellville — plus scenic spots like Norfork Lake and Bull Shoals Lake.

When is the best time for engagement photos?

Sessions are timed around golden hour — the soft, warm light near the end of the day — because it's the most flattering and romantic. Season-wise, any time works; many couples book a few months after getting engaged so they have photos ready for save-the-dates and their wedding website.

How long is an engagement session, and what do we get?

About an hour, relaxed and guided the whole way — you don't need to know how to pose. You'll receive a full gallery of true-to-color edited images in a private online gallery to download, share, and print, perfect for save-the-dates, your wedding website, and framing at the reception.

What should we wear to our engagement session?

Coordinating (not matching) outfits in soft, complementary colors photograph beautifully — pick things you both feel comfortable and confident in, and feel free to bring a second look. Michele is happy to help with outfit ideas once you book.

We're nervous in front of the camera — is that okay?

Completely normal, and totally okay. Michele guides you through the whole session with easy prompts, so you're never left wondering what to do. Most couples relax within a few minutes and end up having fun — and those real, in-between moments make the best photos.

When will we get our engagement photos?

Your fully edited gallery is delivered through a private online gallery in about 3 to 4 weeks — plenty of time to get your save-the-dates out.

How do we book, and is a retainer required?

Just click Book a Session, pick your date and time, and you're set. A 50% retainer holds your date, with the balance due 7 days before your session. Most couples book in just a few minutes.

Do you photograph weddings too?

Yes! Michele photographs weddings across Mountain Home, Northwest Arkansas, and Southwest Missouri, and an engagement session is a wonderful way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day. You can see wedding collections and dates on the weddings page.

We're not engaged — can we still book a session for the two of us?

Absolutely. Engagement sessions are geared toward engaged couples, but Michele also offers couples and anniversary sessions for any two people who'd love beautiful photos together — just reach out and she'll get you set up.
