Every proposal is unique, but there are a few things you can always expect when you work with me: careful planning, discreet coverage and beautifully edited images that capture the joy of your moment.

  • Planning & location scouting: We'll discuss your vision, timing and any surprise elements. I'll suggest scenic spots around Lake Norfork, Bull Shoals, the White River or other hidden gems in the Ozarks.
  • Discreet coverage: I arrive early, blend into surroundings and use long lenses so the surprise stays a surprise until you ask the question.
  • Mini portrait session: After the "yes," we'll take a short walk for relaxed portraits that capture your excitement - perfect for announcements and save-the-dates.
  • Online gallery: Receive a secure, professionally edited gallery you can view, download and share with friends and family.

Best Places to Propose in the Ozarks

Not sure where to pop the question? Here are some of my favorite backdrops around the Twin Lakes:

  • Lake Norfork overview: The golden-hour views from Cranfield Park or the dam overlook are hard to beat.
  • Bull Shoals Lakes coves: Quiet marinas and hidden coves offer privacy and beautiful reflections.
  • White River bridge at Cotter: A classic Arkansas landmark that pairs river scenery with historic charm.
  • Buffalo National River bluffs: For adventurous couples, the hiking trails and river bluffs offer sweeping vistas.
  • Your special spot: Have a place in mind? I'm happy to scout and help make it perfect.

FAQ

How far in advance should we book our proposal session?

Although I can sometimes accommodate last‑minute proposals, my calendar fills up quickly, especially during peak seasons. As soon as you know you’re ready to propose, it’s best to get on my schedule. If I have availability, I’m happy to help you plan and photograph your surprise on short notice.

Do you travel outside of Mountain Home for proposal or engagement sessions?

Yes! I regularly photograph proposals within about a 30‑minute drive of Mountain Home, and I’m happy to travel farther. For locations beyond that radius there may be a nominal travel fee, which I’ll quote for you in advance. Just let me know where you’re dreaming of proposing and we’ll make it happen.

What happens if the weather is bad on the day of our proposal?

If the forecast isn’t cooperating, we can reschedule for another date as long as I have availability. If the date is meaningful and you’d like to proceed, I’m prepared with clear umbrellas and rain covers — some of my favorite proposal photos have been taken in the rain! Either way, I’ll work with you to keep the moment special.

Can you help coordinate extras like flowers, decorations or a picnic?

I focus on photography and making sure your proposal is documented beautifully. For larger decor or picnic setups, I can connect you with trusted local event planners who specialize in creating styled experiences. You’ll get the best of both worlds: professional planning and stunning photos.

How long does a proposal session last, and how many photos will we receive?

Every proposal is unique. Some couples just want the big “yes” and a few portraits afterward, while others stay to celebrate with family and friends. I don’t watch the clock — I’ll keep shooting until I’ve captured the essence of your event. Depending on the scope of your proposal, you can expect anywhere from 100 to 300 fully edited images in your final gallery.

How much does proposal photography cost, and what’s included?

Proposal sessions start at $300 and include basic planning assistance, the photo shoot itself, professional editing, sneak peeks, and an online gallery where you can view, share and download all your images. Travel beyond the Mountain Home area or extra planning time may incur additional fees. Please reach out for a custom quote based on your vision and location.

When will we receive our edited photos?

You’ll receive a handful of sneak peeks within a few days so you can share your news right away. The full gallery is typically delivered within 3–4 weeks, depending on the season. I strive to provide a quick turnaround while ensuring every image is edited to perfection.

Do you offer prints, albums or video for proposal sessions?

Yes! Your online gallery includes a built‑in shop for professional prints, canvas wraps, framed artwork and albums. I do not offer full videography, but I often capture short video clips with a GoPro or my phone during your proposal and am happy to share those with you.

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

A 50% retainer is due at booking to reserve your date. The remaining balance is due one week after the session. If you cancel outright, the retainer is non‑refundable because I turn down other bookings for your date. Rescheduling is allowed at no extra charge, as long as we can find a new date that works for both of us.
